Pos Logistics Berhad As-Is Process Validation & Challenge Workshop
About the workshop
A 3-day As-Is Process Validation and Challenge Workshop was conducted with Pos Logistics Berhad (PLB), delivered across two batches for their General Logistics Solutions division. Husni Halim served as the principal trainer. The programme was organised by Jasmiza Solutions Sdn Bhd (JSSB).
The workshop was designed to help PLB's logistics teams systematically document, validate, and challenge their current as-is processes using a structured Business Process Mapping (BPM) methodology developed over 20 years across more than 300 companies. The approach follows a top-down, objective-led sequence that ensures every process maps back to business value.
Workshop objectives
The programme aimed to validate and challenge current as-is processes by engaging participants in structured walkthroughs to surface bottlenecks, inefficiencies, unclear accountabilities, and non-value-added activities across end-to-end workflows. It also focused on building a shared understanding of process performance across departments and strengthening internal capability in process analysis using the SIPOC and ICOR frameworks.
Methodology: SIPOC to ICOR to Deployment Chart
The training followed a proven 5-step progression. Each department started by defining its Key Objective — one clear sentence that explains why the function exists in the value chain. From there, teams identified up to 5 Key Result Indicators (KRIs) that measure success against that objective.
Next came SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer), a high-level map of the department's core processes and their stakeholders. Each process in the SIPOC was then broken down into ICOR (Input, Control, Output, Resource) diagrams, which describe the detailed activities, controls, and resources required. Finally, select ICOR steps were converted into Deployment Charts — swimlane-format visualisations showing exactly who does what, when, and how long each step takes.
Participants also used AI-assisted tools including NotebookLM and Gemini to support consistent and structured analysis throughout the workshop.
